Problem of evil (logical)
Formal Argument
Premises
P1. Evil 1 exists
P2. God is omnipotent - he is capable to eliminate evil
P3. God is omnibenevolent - he does not want evil to exist
P4. God is omniscient - he must know about all evil in the world
P5. God with omnipotence, omnibenevolence and omniscience attributes would prevent evil occurring
Conclusions
Problem of evil was popularized by David Hume attributed to Epicurus.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes evil?
